The Farm

Founded in the 1970s, Sequoia Farm emerged during a wave of migration from southern Minas Gerais, as coffee producers sought more affordable land, accessible labor, and protection from frost risk. In 2012, São Miguel Holding acquired the farm, ushering in a new era under the stewardship of brothers Pedro, Paulo, and Vicente Lima—who bring decades of experience from their family’s coffe roasting business, active since the 1960s.

Sequoia spans 3,906 hectares, with 2,194 hectares preserved and 1,712 dedicated to coffee cultivation. Notably, its preservation area exceeds its production footprint, underscoring the farm’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

The farm’s current mission is to generate value through specialty coffee production and to support regional development by sharing technological advancements with other farmers.

Thanks to its high altitude and fully integrated infrastructure—from planting to post-harvest processing—Sequoia consistently delivers award-winning coffees. More than 100 dedicated professionals are part of this journey, receiving ongoing training to enhance quality with each harvest.

Nicinha carefully oversees every stage of production, respecting the land while pursuing exceptional quality. Today, Fazenda Sequoia is a leader in sustainable coffee production. Of its 3,906 hectares, 2,194 hectares are preserved — a protected area larger than the coffee fields themselves.
