Villa Rica Highland, Pasco, Peru – A Partnership Rooted in Traceability, Quality & Family Heritage
Royalty Specialty Coffees is proud to announce a new origin collaboration with Villa Rica Highland (VRH) — a group of five family-owned coffee estates located in the central jungle of Peru, within the Oxapampa–Ashaninka–Yanesha UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
This collaboration brings estate-level traceability, microlot excellence, and generational expertise directly to roasters in the United Kingdom, European Union, and the United States — under our Direct Trade model.
Villa Rica is located between 1,000 and 2,000 meters above sea level — an altitude range ideal for high-quality specialty coffees. With fertile valleys, rich biodiversity, and a unique balance of rainfall and sunlight, the area has become one of Peru’s most highly recognized coffee regions, officially protected as an Appellation of Origin.
According to the Villa Rica Coffee Appellation, the region’s coffees deliver:
Founded in 1997, Villa Rica Highland consists of five farms, with 496 hectares across production and conservation zones:
| Category | Data |
| Total land area | 496 hectares |
| Coffee production | 405 hectares |
| Conservation land | 91 hectares |
| Total annual production | 10,000 quintals |
The project specializes in Estate Coffee, with 100% traceability from farm to export, producing washed, natural, and double-fermented microlots.
Villa Rica Highland is driven by generational families who have cultivated coffee for nearly a century. One of the emerging leaders today is Kenny Vidurrizaga, representing the new generation of Peruvian coffee innovators. He plays a key role in:
His family farms — such as Finca Schuler and Finca Vidurrizaga — are rooted in tradition but focused on innovation, consistently refining post-harvest methods to elevate quality.
CERTIFICADO CAFE 3 AGROINDUSTRI…
This confirms Villa Rica Highland as a globally competitive origin — ready for specialty microlot releases in 2025.
The story of Finca Schuler began nearly a century ago in Villa Rica, where the Austrian Schuller family established a legacy of coffee excellence. Today, led by Javier Schuler Cánepa, the farm combines German-Italian tradition with Peru’s unique terroir to produce internationally acclaimed coffees known for their intense aroma and robust flavor.
Cultivated between 1,500 and 1,790 meters, the coffee benefits from a microclimate that enhances its natural sweetness. The estate balances high-quality production across 55 hectares with a strong commitment to sustainability, dedicating 12 hectares to conservation. This ecosystem supports noble varieties like Gesha and Java, which are refined through meticulous washed processes and innovative double fermentation to create exclusive, world-class microlots.

Tracing its roots back to 1935, Fundo Sudetia del Sur was founded by Max Noche, a German immigrant who saw endless potential in the Cedro Pampa valley. Now in its third generation under Dieter Noche Mick, the 180-hectare estate has evolved into a premier destination for specialty coffee. The farm perfectly utilizes its high-altitude microclimate (up to 1,740m) to cultivate 100 hectares of premium varieties like Gesha and Typica, while strictly preserving 30 hectares of native forest.
By mastering the washed process to ensure clean and bright cup profiles, the Noche family continues to honor nearly a century of heritage, delivering a taste of history that remains deeply committed to environmental respect.
