Premium Estates Coffee: A Commitment to Exceptional Quality and Sustainability

Situated in the Villa Rica District of the Pasco Region in Central Peru, a renowned coffee-growing area, Premium Estates Coffee is committed to providing exceptional origin coffee sourced from single estates and family-owned farms directly to our partners in Europe. With altitudes reaching up to 1,700 meters, we ensure quality and sustainability through meticulous hand harvesting and processing at our central mill. Premium Estates owns two farms, San Crispin and Sudetia del Sur, where all coffee is processed locally in the farm’s wet mill. Additionally, some coffees are sourced from small neighboring farms, including Llave de Oro, to maintain a diverse and high-quality offering.

Local Sourcing

Our main sourcing in Peru is managed by Elciario Naranjo, a seasoned producer introduced to us by our friend Mark Russel from Khipu Coffee. Elciario owns and operates Premium Estates Coffee, where we collaborate closely with his dedicated team of experts in coffee processing and quality control. He works alongside our EU lab to ensure all coffee consistently meets the highest quality standards, allowing us to streamline logistics and maintain the integrity of our products throughout the supply chain.

Varieties

At Premium Estates Coffee we take pride in our diverse selection of coffee varietals, which include Caturra, Gran Colombia, Bourbon, Catimor, Típica, Geisha, Red Obata, and Tupy. Each of these varietals is carefully cultivated to highlight the unique flavors and characteristics of the Villa Rica region. Sustainability

At Premium Estates, we are committed to sustainability through responsible farming practices.

Some of the lots are 100% Shade-Grown Coffee under a canopy of native trees, which enhances biodiversity, protects the soil from erosion, and provides habitats for local wildlife. This method not only improves the quality of the coffee but also contributes to the overall health of the ecosystem.

Water Conservation: We implement efficient water management practices at our farms, utilizing rainwater harvesting systems and ensuring that water used in processing is treated and recycled. This minimizes our impact on local water resources and reduces our environmental footprint.

Social Responsibility: We work closely with local communities, ensuring fair wages and safe working conditions for all labourers. By investing in education and health programs, we aim to improve the quality of life for our workers and their families.

Traceability

Detailed Records: We maintain meticulous records of every stage of the coffee production process, from planting and harvesting to processing and export. This ensures transparency and enables us to verify the quality and origin of our coffees.

Direct Relationships: We foster direct relationships with our coffee producers, allowing us to guarantee the authenticity and quality of our beans. By working closely with farmers, we ensure that every batch of coffee meets our rigorous standards.
